Kenya international based players Jesse Were bagged a goal yesterday but it wasn’t enough for Zesco United as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Green Buffaloes FC in a Zambian Super League clash.

Were had put the Zambian giants inside the first ten minutes but after wasting a lot of chances in the game, Buffaloes restored parity in the 53rd minute through Martin Phiri.

Jesse’s counterparts from Kenya in keeper Ian Otieno, David Odhiambo and John Makwatta all played in the game and amassed the full minutes.

In Belgium, Stars midfielder Johanna Omollo completed the full minutes as Cercle Brugge impressive run was halted by leaders Club Brugge on Saturday.

In England winger, Ayub Timbe was an unused substitute as Reading recorded a 3-1 win over Birmingham City on Saturday in the Championship.

In the MLS, captain Victor Wanyama will have to wait longer for his debut for Montreal Impact as he missed the matchday squad when his team was held to a 2-2 by Dallas on Saturday.
