Immediate former Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Dr. Eliud  Wabukala’s nomination to be the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission EACC, has been approved by the National Assembly.

On December 19th 2016, President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated Wabukala to chair the anti-corruption commission.  His name was sent to Parliament for vetting.

President Kenyatta sent his name to the National Assembly in a communication that was read to the House by Speaker Justin Muturi during a special sitting.

Archbishop Wabukala was among six individuals who had been shortlisted for interviews to head of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) who were interviewed for the job by the Public Service Commission on November 17 last year.

Others who eyed the job were William Kirwa, Philemon Mwaisaka, Peter Ondieki,  Rose Osoro and Erastus Iguna.  Wabukala will now succeed the immediate former Chairman of the EACC Phillip Kinisu.
