Oscar Ouma and Sammy Oliech make a return in the Kenya Men’s National Sevens squad named for the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2019/2020 HSBC Sevens World Series in Los Angeles, USA, and Vancouver, Canada.

Also making a return in the squad is Jacob Ojee, Dan Sikuta and Oscar Dennis who return from rest and injury respectively.

The five inclusions are set to replace Johnstone Olindi, Bush Mwale, Geoffrey Okwach, Herman Humwa and Nelson Oyoo. 

Kenya Sevens is pooled with South Africa, Ireland and Canada in the Los Angeles 7s. 

The fifth tournament of the series takes place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Los Angeles.

Unlike the New Zealand and Australian legs of the World Series, the Los Angeles event will be a men’s only affair.

 The circuit take a revert to the format where the top two teams in each pool qualify for the quarterfinals.

“Three games in day one three games in day two is fabulous. We are looking forward to the old formats. Our goal is to finish in the top and from there anything can happen,” said Paul Feeney, Kenya 7s head coach. 

Captain Andrew Amonde said: 

“The squad is well balanced which is a big boost for us. It’s better for us a team because we are preparing for the Olympics.”

“The format in Sydney was a little bit difficult because it was very demanding. This time round we have another chance because two teams can go through. This is something we know how to go through.”

The LA 7s will be held from March 1st to 2nd.
