Rwanda has made it a priority to seek the hosting rights of the 2017 Fifa Executive Committee meeting that is scheduled to be held in October.
Speaking to supersport.com in an exclusive interview, Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) president Vincent Degaule Nzamwita confirmed the interest.

“I met with the Fifa President Gianni Infantino during the just concluded Afcon in Gabon and proposed to him that Rwanda is interested in hosting the Fifa Executive Committee meeting in October,” revealed the optimistic Nzamwita.

“We have the facilities to host a high end meeting of this caliber and it would be good for us as a nation. We shall wait for the response from Fifa. We are optimistic.”

Rwanda successfully hosted the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan), 2011 African U-17 Championship as well as 2009 African Youth Championship.

Sources close to the sports officials have suggested that Rwanda is also interested in hosting Afcon in 2025, a tournament that Ethiopia has already shown interest to host after investing in stadiums across the country.
