A number of public service vehicles (PSV)have complied with the laid down procedures as directed by the ministry of Health in regard to keeping safe as the threat for coronavirus continues to loom.

Addressing the media , the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, James Macharia urged the public transport stakeholders to keep safe and follow the laid down precautions which in return will help them gain trust with their client. Macharia who was flanked by key stakeholders in the matatu industry, cautioned that the licenses of public transport operators’ who are disregarding measures to tame coronavirus including provision of sanitizers to passengers will be revoked.

He ordered the matatu owners to ensure the Public Service Vehicles are clean and fumigated everyday.

On their side, the stakeholders in the public transport have vowed to keep check and especially to provide their clients with the necessary equipment to use in curbing any effects of the deadly Coronavirus
