Emuhuya MP Amboko Milemba has been appointed as the new Amani National Congress party Secretary general.

Party leader Issa Timamy together with party officials unveiled  Omboko Milemba in a colorful ceremony at the Mudavadi Centre attended by party representatives from different parts of the country.

Omboko will succeed Simon Kiguru who was nominated to be CAS.

The party in a statement said, “We believe that Omboko Milemba’s vast experience and expertise in political affairs will be invaluable in steering our party towards greater success and achievements”.

Addressing the meeting, Omboko  affirmed his commitment to ensure the party remains an independent entity under the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

“The party will undertake its activities independently but within Kenya Kwanza coalition,” Milemba said.

The legislator  has further announced plans by the party to roll out grassroot mobilization to revamp it in readiness of the next generation election.

” I urged Party officials to strengthen the Party through supporting strategic programs and innovative activities in readiness for 2027 elections:, he stated.

Meanwhile, Milemba has lauded the move by the opposition Azimio la Umoja coalition to call off the anti-government protests that had been scheduled for today, stating that parliament is the only way to resolve the various issues of concern.

He however reiterated that the  Kenya Kwanza government will not cow to calls for a handshake which will only serve to automatically kill the opposition and its oversight role.
