The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret has established as 24 team multi-agency team as a precaution for the Corona virus pandemic.

The Hospital that serves over 22 Counties in the North Rift and Western region has also set aside 10 beds for isolation of patients should need arise.


Addressing a media briefing at the hospital, MTRH Chief Executive Officer Dr Wilson Aruasa also revealed that a 15-bed isolation is also being constructed by by the ministry of health.


The centre is expected to be complete by mid this month.
Already health workers at the hospital have been trained on how to handle cases suspected to be Corona Virus.


The multi Agency team led by Dr Taabu Simiyu has also been in contact with counties as they put in place measures to help prevent the spread of the virus in the region through the border points and the Eldoret airport.
