Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) says it is prepared to handle any case of Corona virus in the country.

In a media briefing this morning, KEMSA CEO Jonah Manjari said the government is procuring masks, beds and thermometers as part of preparations on coronavirus.

The masks will be distributed to areas such as entry points ,and hospitals but more procurement will be done to cover all affected Kenyans when need be.

The Coronavirus preparedness budget has been estimated at Ksh850 million.

By today, the global death toll from the coronavirus outbreak exceeded 3,000 with more than 88,000 people infected.

On Friday last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta  ordered incoming health CS Mutahi Kagwe to immediately take up the role of directing efforts to ensure Kenyans remain safe amid fears of Corona virus outbreak.
