The ministry of Health in Tanzania in collaboration with religious leaders of different denominations has organanised special prayers so as to pray for the country over the current situation caused by Covid-19.

According to Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu, the prayers which will be led by the religious leaders will be conducted tomorrow at Karimjee in Dar Es Salaam starting from 9.00am.

She added that only few leaders will attend the prayers to represent the citizens. Tanzanians have been urged to follow the prayers while at home through different media platforms.

Tanzanian President John Pombe Mahghufuli had earlier announced three days of prayers in the country which ended on Sunday following the Corona virus pandemic.

By Monday, Tanzania had recorded 84 new virus cases,  raising the total number of infections to 254.
