Kenya’s Harambee Starlets will take part in the Turkish Women Cup as guests as the team gears for their 2020 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

The tournament is set to be staged between March 2-11 in Turkey with the David Ouma coached side using the showpiece as part of their preparations for their forthcoming games.

Speaking to the Football Kenya Federation website, Ouma said of the tournament: “I am happy that the Starlets have been recognized and invited to this international tournament. It will be a good avenue to gauge our players ahead of the upcoming qualifiers.”

Head Coach Ouma is expected to name the team that will do duty in the tournament on Wednesday with all eyes on Esse Akida who completed her move to Turkish giants Besiktas on Monday February 17,2020. 

Before they leave for Turkey, the team is expected to join camp on February 23 in Nairobi with a local friendly clash set to take place before they leave for Turkey.

The friendly is set for February 29 , before they jet out to Turkey on March 2, 2020.

Apart from Kenya, the other countries expected to grace the tournament are Hungary, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Romania, Uzbekistan, Northern Ireland, Turkmenistan, and Chile.
