Sidian Bank has donated food worth Sh 1.5 million to families stricken by the COVID-19 in the areas of Kawangware and Kangemi at this time when the virus has disrupted economic activities faced by the communities that we all engage with.

The bank joined forces with Centum Foundation, Ajiry/Mastercard Foundation and the MPs representing both Kawangware and Kangemi areas, Hon. Simba Arati and Hon. Timothy Wanyonyi, respectively, to identify 1,000 families that are most affected by the pandemic where the bank will step in to donate food packs to the families that will sustain them for over two weeks.

The distribution will be done through the Zero Contact Distribution System developed by Kenyan Youth through the Young Africa Works initiative.

The magnitude of the impact caused by the virus requires all Kenyans to follow the stipulated guidelines as well to ensure that all Kenyans stay safe during this period and play their part in helping to curb the spread of the virus.

The bank has also restructured loans for its customers in the sectors affected by the pandemic to ensure their businesses stay afloat. The bank assured its customers of their continued during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I pray that we face this adversity with courage and determination to succeed and with God’s blessings, we will overcome and have a better tomorrow,” remarked the Sidian Bank CEO Mr Chege Thumbi.

The bank is grateful to the parties who have taken part in this initiative as we continue to take steps to combat this pandemic for a better tomorrow.
