78.82%  of church leaders want that churches re-opened with strict adherence to the ministry of health protocols in the wake of COVID 19 pandemic.

According to a research done  by Shahidihub Africa, dubbed the state of church in Kenya during the Covid-19, churches have remained resilient during this period to meet the needs of Kenyans.

According to the research lead by Dr. Elkanah Cheboi, from 161 denominations in Kenya, only  5.18 % of church leaders do not want church to be reopened. Out of the 429 pastors sampled from 33 counties  16% want the churches to be reopened after the curve flattens.

Moreover, 14.82% want the churches to be reopened in counties where the pandemic has not been registered. The research has also established that during this period 71% of churches established devotion to reach to their members.

As a reaching out 50% of churches have during this time  opened new online platforms, with 83.57% of churches focusing on opening online church platform and activating existing ones.

Some of the pastors however blamed Poor Network Connectivity in rural areas as a hindrance of their churches going online.

However the transition to online church has left children and the elderly 70+ being left out at 64.57%, and 61.07% respectively.
