9 Kenyan truck drivers are among those that have tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya in the last 24 hours. Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman said the 9 are from Kajiado county and arrived in the country from Tanzania, raising concern over cross border infections.

Dr. Aman at the same time cautioned communities living along porous borders to be cautious of people moving in and out of the country and inform authorities for action.

This as the country has recorded 28 more coronavirus cases bringing the total to 700.

10 Cases are from Mombasa county, 7 from Nairobi, 9 in Kajiado and 2 from Wajir County. One more patient has died in Nairobi raising the tally to 33.

According to Aman, Kenya’s testing capacity had gone down because of limited availability of reagents which he said is a global problem.

Covid-19 cases in Nairobi emanate from KNH(3), Emakasi East(2), Kibra (1) and Pumwani (1).

In Mombasa, the cases were reported in Mvita(3), Changamwe(2), Nyali(2), Changamwe (2) and Likoni (1).

In Wajir the reported cases were from Eldas and Tarbaj.
