Are you willing to go the extreme to be with Jesus? That is the question I brought with me this morning, and this question is not just for you, it is for each and every one of us. Are you willing to go the extra mile, knowing that the extra mile is never easy, I think this is the problem with some of us today; we want everything to be easy. No matter what circumstances life throws in our direction, we have to believe that we can handle it ourselves. And so it is really about our perception.
We all have problems. The problem for many of us is making the mistake of going through life without expecting there will be problems or thinking that because you have a problem—it is a problem that cannot be fixed. If you have a problem this morning there is Someone who is able, in fact, He is more than able to fix it.

1. She Went The Extra Mile

She had a condition that no one understood, no one wanted to be around her—because they just didn’t understand her, they didn’t understand her illness, they didn’t understand why she of all people she had this illness, they thought maybe it’s a curse or something they just didn’t know. And people are like that—people often fear what they don’t understand and hate what they can’t conquer.

2. She Had Imperfect Faith

The woman heard about Jesus, so she followed Him with the other people in the crowd and touched His coat. In the Gospel of Matthew tells us “she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” Imperfect faith is still faith.

3. She Reached Out To Jesus

This woman even with her imperfect faith managed to get His attention. Not only did she say to herself … “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” … but she also acted on her words and reached out to Jesus, she reached out to Jesus. She desperately wanted Him to heal her, but after all the rejection and mistreatment she had been receiving for twelve years He not allow her to come anywhere near Him. Some people have come to accept being rejected and mistreated, it is something that they expect because they have been this way for a long time. She might have believed that if you approached Jesus face to face He too would look upon in disgust just like everyone else has done.
Although the woman was “fearing and trembling” she made a public profession of what the Lord had done for her. She only hoped to slip in and go unnoticed, receive her healing, and just slip away. With man, that was possible to do, but she couldn’t do so with Jesus. You see Jesus works from the inside out and not from the outside in. He can tell the difference from a casual touch and touch of faith. A casual touch does not involve the heart; a casual touch shows no desperation, and a casual touch usually does not express love. But a touch of faith means, “…Lord, I do believe; but help thou mine unbelief.” A touch of faith means Lord I am leaning and depending on you. It means, Lord, if you can’t help me no one can! A touch of faith can make you whole.
