Hotel chain, Hemingways Collection has announced the re-opening of its Hemingways Nairobi and Hemingways Watamu properties from the 23rd of June, 2020. This even as COVID 19 restrictions have slowly been easing up amid plans to re-open the country’s economy.

In a statement , Hemingways Collection’s Group CEO, Alastair Addison, says the re-opening of both properties comes after careful consideration of what it would entail to fully operate both properties while ensuring staff and guests’ health and safety needs are well catered for.

“The Covid-19 preventative measures we have adopted in our properties go above and beyond the minimum government standards to offer complete comfort and security to our guests while ensuring the unique experience of staying at Hemingways Collection is retained,” he said.

Addison added that the measures the Collection has undertaken include training all staff on appropriate health and safety protocols, investing in suitable cleaning equipment and ensuring clear procedures are in place in the event of a positive COVID-19 case.

“As a group, we are positive that Hemingways Nairobi’s and Hemingways Watamu’s re-opening will be a breath of fresh air within the hospitality industry considering how hard we have been hit as a sector and a positive in charting our path to recovery. We know it won’t be easy but we are delighted to, once again, be welcoming guests to Hemingways Collection,’ said Addison.

Hemingways Collection’s Nairobi and Watamu properties had suspended operations in late March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic within the country.

Ol Seki Hemingways Mara remains closed for the time being but is expected to re-open soon.
