Family Bank has donated 14 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds and 51 isolation beds valued at Sh 3.47 million to the County Government of Embu to support emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation was handed over by the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Rebecca Mbithi to the County’s Governor Martin Wambora.

The beds will be used at the County’s new isolation centre. Speaking during the donation exercise, Rebecca Mbithi said they are committed to ensuring that they build a sustainable business that is able to support the Counties and the communities that we work closely together.

“As a Bank, we believe in standing with our country even during this difficult times,”  said Mbithi.

She added, “Through this support, Embu County will be better prepared towards flattening the curve of coronavirus infection.”

On his part, Governor Wambora said the  donation not only compliments the resources already in place but also comes at a timely period when movement restrictions have been eased and the need for counties to be prepared is paramount.

“We thank Family Bank for standing with Embu County during this critical period,” said Wambora.
