Education Cabinet Secretary nominee Julius Migosi Ogamba has promised to push for adequate financing in the education sector saying the chronic root of the issues bedeviling the sector are resource-oriented.
Appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, Ogambo promised to work closely with the National Treasury to ensure resources are mainstreamed in the sector so as to facilitate education programs.
Julius Ogamba has at the same time assured that he will enforce proper communication to deal with the controversies surrounding the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum and the new university funding model which have faced resistance.
Ogamba has noted that the new University Funding Model is facing teething problems because the Measuring Testing Instrument is not effectively assessing the level of need for funding students who apply for scholarships.
