Over 400 families who were pushed out of their homes due to floods in Nyando and Nyakach sub counties of Kisumu County have received a relief donation from the church there.

The Catholic Church through a group of nuns and well wishers donated mazie flour, sugar, green grams, beans and bedding.

Kisumu Arch Bishop Phillip Anyolo welcomed the generosity of the residents and said with the aid, they will be able to reach to other families.

The church said families affected by the current pandemic in Kisumu and Siaya counties will benefit from the donations and called on members of the public and other well wishers to send contributions.

Archbishop Anyolo said Coronavirus pandemic has led to shutdown of businesses and loss of jobs, making it difficult for several families in the Country to put food on the table.
