Britam insurance has scooped the Association of Kenya Insurance (AKI) company of the year award in the 2020 and 2021 for the 14th and  15th consecutive years in a row.

The company also emerged the first Runners Up Company of the year Number of Policies 2021. It also bagged the second Runners Up General Insurance Company of the Year Award 2020 and 2021, second Runners Up Company Innovation Award 2020 and 2021 and the Most Improved Company 2021.

Commenting on the accolades, Britam Insurance lauded its Financial Advisers channel saying it has been a critical strategy for the business, having renewed focus on competitiveness, efficiency and customer-centricity.

“At around 2,200 Financial Advisors at the close of 2020, Britam had the largest sales agents’ population in the industry which had a total of 11,300 agents according to the IRA 2020 Annual Report (19.5%). This, coupled with the wide coverage of 28 branches around the country means Britam Financial Advisors are able to cover the length and breadth of the country and be the first point of contact with a largely underserved population when it comes to insurance services, ” Britam Insurance stated.

It added that Britam Financial Advisors continued to be engaged throughout the COVID-19 pandemic period through a well-established IT platform that ensured end to end business submission and processing coupled with a switched on leadership that adopted various online engagement platforms until some semblance of normalcy resumed.

“The win is a testament to the unwavering support of our customers, through the good times and tough times. The goodwill afforded by the board and management of Britam provided the backdrop upon which everyone in the organization was able to thrive and provide support to the foot soldiers. The insurance regulatory authority and the Association of Kenya Insurers continued to provide support that enables the industry to continue to improve in performance, stability and resilience. Indeed, the only way is up for the industry, and Britam will be right there with Financial Advisors and customers, every step of the way,” Britam added.
