The opposition Azimio – One Kenya Alliance has confirmed plans to hold a public engagement forum tomorrow ,Tuesday June 27, in order to discuss the Finance Bill, 2023 after it was passed by Parliament and assented to by President William Ruto.

On its Azimio TV channel, the opposition invited members of the public to the historic Kamkunji grounds at 10am, where “the next course of action will be decided” , it added.

Last week the coalition announced the consultative meeting with the people at the Kamukunji grounds will feature among other issues the government’s rejection to reconsider some proposals in the now-passed finance bill and vat increment on petroleum products which they said will push up the cost of living.

Meanwhile Nairobi Members of County Assembly who are affiliated with Azimio La Umoja coalition have affirmed their support for their leader, Raila Odinga ahead of his return.

The MCAs drawn from ODM, Wiper and Jubilee parties have vowed to declare their stand, noting they cannot be bought.

Led by majority leader Peter Imwatok, they told off  Kenya Kwanza who they claimed are attempting to “buy” them and have asked their supporters to turn up and welcome Odinga by attending the much-awaited Kamukunji rally.

Odinga has already returned country on Tuesday morning after a long break in Poland.

This as Nairobi traders are in a dilemma ahead of tomorrow’s Kamkunji Rally.  However, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has cautioned Azimio against any destruction that maybe caused to properties in the country’s capital.
